Min Jin Lee
Korean-American · b. 1968
Min Jin Lee carried the story of Pachinko for nearly thirty years — from a college lecture about Koreans in Japan through a scrapped draft and years of interviews in Tokyo. A former lawyer, she writes epics of immigrant endurance; Pachinko was a National Book Award finalist and made the Zainichi story visible to the world.
